Network Switch	A network switch is a small hardware device that joins multiple computers together within one local area network (LAN). A switch normally has numerous ports, with the intention being that most or all of the network is connected directly to the switch, or another switch that is in turn connected to a switch.
Internet Router	A “Router” is a device that forwards data packets between computer networks, creating an overlay internet work. A router is connected to two or more data lines from different networks (Local network and Internet). When a data packet comes in one of the lines, the router reads the address information in the packet to determine its ultimate destination.
